The Mesothelioma Center Announces the Launch of the Mesothelioma Counter
Newton, MA--June 19, 2007--Mesothelioma Center has launched a one-of-a-kind Mesothelioma Counter for patients, their families, and other advocates at http://www.mesothelioma-center.com/diagnosis/mesothelioma-counter.html.
The Center created the Mesothelioma Counter, a widget, to help raise awareness about mesothelioma. Every year, around 3,000 people are diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma in the United States, which amounts to 8 new cases a day. Unfortunately, most victims die within one to two years after diagnosis. The counter, which can be uploaded to any website, shows the approximate number of cases that have been diagnosed since January 1 and will continue to update until December 31.
Family members and friends of victims or concerned advocates can add the Mesothelioma Counter to a blog, personal website, or other affiliated website. By uploading this counter, the Mesothelioma Center hopes to unite the community through an awareness effort and remind all who see it that everyone needs to keep fighting until a cure is discovered.
Those interested in learning more about how to upload the counter to their website should visit the Mesothelioma Counter page on the Mesothelioma Center Website.
Mesothelioma Center, sponsored by the Law Offices of James Sokolove, was created to serve as a one-stop, authoritative resource for mesothelioma victims and their families to find medical and legal information, as well as news and support resources. This website contains credible medical and legal information about asbestos and mesothelioma consolidated from resources like The American Cancer Society, The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF), The Environmental Protection Agency, The American Bar Association, and many more. To read more information about asbestos exposure and mesothelioma, to read legal information, and to find support, visit http://www.mesothelioma-center.com.

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer contracted by the inhalation or ingestion of asbestos fibers. The fibers in asbestos cause tumors in the lung and/or abdominal lining which, like any other form of cancer, is ultimately fatal unless treated properly. The common causes of death are internal bleeding or hemorrhage from the tumors, or cardiac arrest from the buildup of bodily fluids secreted by the body's immune system in an attempt to combat the tumors.
